What to Expect from Your Course

Teaching generally takes place between 9:30 - 12:30 in the morning, then 3:30 - 5:30 in the afternoon. Depending on the course, you may have demonstrations or talks to start the day, and then have one to one meetings with your tutor throughout the rest of the day. The teaching day may end with a group exhibition/discussion or a slide lecture, though students are free to carry on painting for as long as they like. Please refer to the description of your chosen course for details. There is no lack of inspiration in and around the Centro - the terrace with its pots and plants, the wide view, the student's kitchen with window seat looking over the tiled roof to the landscape... It is a 2 minute walk to the centre of the village for atmospheric alleyways and vignettes. You don't need to walk far for extensive views over the Tuscan landscape.

Typical Day:

Breakfast at 8:30 am.
Teaching from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Break for lunch and siesta until about 3 pm.
Teaching period again from about 3 to 5 pm .
Dinner at 8 pm.

After dinner there may be a talk with slides, or some entertainment in the village. Casole is an amazingly lively village with festivals in the summer including our own Palio horse race (on the second weekend of July) and live music performances at various venues around the village - almost always in the open air.
